From the beginning…

Welcome to my lifestyle page, “Whatgibbs In the City.” My favorite television show of all time is Sex In The City, and it was inevitably the inspiration for this blog. Navigating life in New York is such a big adventure, and my writing and yoga practice are what keep me grounded through it all. I’ve poured into my Instagram for over ten years, and now I’m excited to have a bigger place to continue sharing my imagery but with more than a short caption. I’m an avid writer, and I love to journal, and I want to use this space to share more deeply about my life.

While I love fashion, travel, dining, and everything wellness, these days, my biggest hurdle is my autoimmune disease, lupus nephritis. I was diagnosed back in June 2016, and my life changed drastically. I lean into my nutrition, eating primarily plant-based and various fish when I need some extra protein. I do my best to move my body every single day, whether that is yoga, hitting the gym, or some fitness class. I always prioritize getting ample rest, live life in the present moment, and never dwell in the past. Most importantly, I try my hardest to maintain low levels of stress and, truthfully, become a little selfish for my own well-being.

I have a love/hate relationship with my diagnosis; It has awarded me numerous opportunities and has given me a platform to share my journey and experience in hopes of motivating and inspiring others. So please stay tuned and check back here weekly for the latest updates, good and bad, within my life, fashion, dining, and travel tips, as well as some of the fun adventures and opportunities that I embark on.

When I need to get away from the City in New York, you’ll find me at the Pierre Hotel. It’s a staycation dreamland - go there.

The streets of NYC are a fashion show; sometimes, I indulge! You can check out my LTK page for links to all of my favorite looks - here

Becoming a Lupus Warrior and sharing my story continues to be one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences in my life. Connecting with others fighting this disease and raising awareness is something I will never tire of doing!

A drop back stretch at a scenic stop in the city is my vibe check :)
